Our Values

Christ is Our Core

We believe in the one true Triune God; the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. We believe that Jesus Christ of Nazareth is the Son of God, who lived a sinless and exemplary life—fully God and man, who died on a cross and rose again, thus defeating sin and death for the sins of humanity, reconciling us back into relationship with the Living God. We believe as followers of Jesus, we are to live according to the example and teachings of Jesus. We recognize that our ministries themselves are not redemptive, but only the ministry of Christ in us, empowered by the Spirit, is capable of redeeming people’s lives.

1 Corinthians 15:1-21, Philippians 2:6-11

Mission is Our Mandate

We believe the church’s vocation, in any era, is to be faithful to embody the gospel of Jesus Christ in word and deed. The church’s role in mission is not to be a home-base that sends out certain individuals, but as a whole, to live as sent missionaries. We are a ‘sent’ people, sent by a ‘sent’ God.

Matthew 28:19-20, John 20

Family is Our Foundation

We believe we are created to be in relationship with God and in relationship with one another; this is what it means when we are created in the image of a Triune God. Our faith in Jesus is a communal practice that is meant to be done within a community of believers. A person’s private practice shapes the community and the community’s practices shapes a person. As a community we are to embody the cruciform life of Jesus in our relationships with one another.

Acts 2:42-47, Ephesians 2:14-22

People are Our Priority

We believe as followers of Jesus, every christian is to live their lives’ as a witness to others—of the grace that has been freely given through the atonement that is Jesus Christ’s life, death and resurrection. We want to be a people that welcome others into a community that doesn’t diagnose their shortcomings, but faithfully and transparently loves God and loves people.

Genesis 1:27, John 3:16

Generosity is Our Gift

We believe we are managers of our time, talents and treasures, which are all entrusted to us by God. One of the greatest gifts from God is the invitation to partner in building God’s kingdom here on earth as it is in Heaven. As we are transformed by God’s redeeming grace, generosity shifts from being an act, to becoming part of our identity. As we live lives of gratitude and thankfulness to God, we will supernaturally live lives of generosity; putting other people’s needs over our own.

2 Corinthians 9:6-15, Galatians 2:20
