Mid-Week

Community Groups

The church isn’t a building, it’s the people. We believe that doing life together in close fellowship with one another isn’t just a good idea, but a spiritual practice. Our community groups are for the purpose of building relationship; to know and be known as a church family, to have spiritual conversations centred in Christ and the Bible, and to be a place where we can pray with and for one another. In the same way that we are the “church” on Sunday, we are also the church mid-week. We are planning to launch our next Community Group season in late November, which will be hosted throughout Surrey, Burnaby, and Vancouver. Our team is currently in the process of putting each Community Group together, but if you are interested in joining, please send an email to info@passionchurch.ca, and we will do our best to find a group that has space, that will be meeting closest to your current neighbourhood!

A conversation about community

We had a conversation with Quai Diaz, who’s been part of our church community for the last year and half, and was also part of our team in this last season of community groups. In this video, Quai shares his experience of how he’s experienced Christ through our community at Passion.

Weekend

Sundays

We have a Sunday morning worship service at the Soundhouse Studios from 11:00am - 12:30pm. If you are driving, we recommend that you arrive earlier as the area isn’t great for parking. Most of the surrounding streets around the Soundhouse are 2 hour paid parking (the rate is $1.00 per hour). There are free 2 hour spaces South of Broadway and East of Main if you don’t mind a 10-15 minute walk!

Every gathering includes

Singing

Singing is simply one of the ways a Christ-follower worships the Lord. Singing has been a practice for thousands of years in the life of the church, and is one of the few things we can actually give to the Lord. We sing an array of songs, both old and present day worship songs.

Communion

We believe that the Lord’s Supper was instituted by Jesus Christ for the remembrance of the Atonement, which is His life, death and resurrection. We believe that gathering around the Lord’s Table is to be communally observed and administered until the return of the Lord Jesus Christ.

Prayer

We believe that prayer is communion with the Lord. In our Sunday worship services, we want to create space to dwell, abide and intercede in Christ, through the Holy Spirit. We have an anchored moment of prayer in our service, and time afterwards if you would like to receive prayer.

Teaching

We prioritize teaching the Bible, which we believe to be inspired by the Holy Spirit, and the supreme authority in all matters of faith and conduct. We believe that Jesus Christ, the Son of God—crucified on the cross and resurrected from the grave, is the unveiling and revelation of God the Father throughout the Scriptures.

Saturday Morning

Prayer isn’t simply preparation for the Holy Spirit to move, prayer is when the Holy Spirit moves. We host an online prayer group via Zoom on Saturday mornings, that are about 30-45 minutes in length. This will be a space where we can pray and intercede for our church, our city, and our world. It will also be a space where we can pray with and for one another.
